Hi, my name is Jo-Anne Gibson and I am a teacher-librarian and band teacher at a large junior high school in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I recently completed a diploma in Teacher-Librarianship at the University of Alberta which was a great program but I’m glad to be finished and can move on to other learning opportunities.
I’ve just been voted Manitoba’s Teacher-Librarian of the Year for 2008/09 by my peers which is a real honour. I will be taking over the presidency of the Manitoba School Library Association at their annual general meeting in May.
I love to integrate technology whenever I can into my library program. I believe that our students who have grown up in a digital age deserve an education that will excite and engage them in the learning process. This blog is my committment to my students that I will continue my learning so that I can prepare them for their lives in the 21st century.

Hey Jo-Anne!
This looks great! I am impressed that you already have a del.icio.us link and have a picture of you up too! Great work!

Hi Andrea,
Thanks for the kind comments. Not having used wordpress before, I was surprised to find an email today telling me that I had to approve a comment made on my site. I didn’t have any trouble finding out how to approve the comment but it took me a bit of time to figure out where the comment had been left.
Thanks for getting me started!
Jo-Anne
